Halo has proudly launched 25+ food science requests from global leaders like Kraft Heinz, Cargill, and General Mills, driving collaboration between industry and innovators. While facilitating this collaboration, we often need to lean on industry experts to help us scope our requests for proposals, help our sponsors screen proposals, or identify the right partners to reach innovators effectively. We don’t always have that expertise in-house, so we are building a committee of scientific advisors to help us fulfill our mission of moving science forward.
Background
To continue this growth, Halo is seeking 5-10 experts in food packaging to join our Scientific Advisory Committee.
Committee members will play a key role in shaping and strengthening the requests posted on Halo, ensuring they are clear and appropriately scoped. Committee members will also provide valuable insights to industry sponsors by evaluating and advising on proposals, guiding collaborations, and ultimately driving innovation and progress in the food packaging industry.
We are seeking Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) with expertise in various aspects of food packaging to join our Scientific Advisory Committee. Experts will provide insights to support the creation and fulfillment of partnering opportunities within food packaging. This opportunity is open to a diverse range of experts, including academic researchers, startup founders, industry professionals, and suppliers with deep knowledge of food packaging.

- Packaging materials
- Compliance and food safety packaging regulations
- Food safety
- Food preservation
- Sustainability
This opportunity offers flexibility, with opportunities to contribute both asynchronously and through scheduled discussions, depending on the nature of the task and your availability.
As a committee member, you will:
- Provide expert insights on partnering opportunities and other initiatives in food packaging
- Participate in paid consultations as available
- Provide feedback on proposals submitted by innovators
- Serve as a quoted expert source for blog posts and white papers produced by Halo and distributed to our network
