Automato Robotics

Automato Robotics develops autonomous robotic solutions for the agricultural industry, focusing on soil-based passive greenhouses. Its primary technology is an affordable, autonomous harvester specifically designed to pick single tomatoes. The robot utilizes advanced computer vision to navigate greenhouse environments and detect tomatoes under varying conditions, such as sun glare, low light, and partial occlusion by leaves, operating effectively even at night. The system is engineered to perform at a harvesting rate of 10-12 tomatoes per minute, designed to maintain reliability while reducing physical contact with crops to minimize the spread of plant diseases.

This technology addresses the global labor crisis in agriculture, enabling farmers to sustain and increase production yields despite severe workforce shortages. Beyond harvesting, the company aims to integrate additional agricultural tasks and data-driven features into its robotic platform, including real-time yield analysis, pest detection, and disease monitoring. By providing actionable visual data and automating repetitive tasks, Automato Robotics supports growers in managing their greenhouse operations more efficiently and mitigating the challenges associated with manual labor in high-tunnel and soil-grown crop environments.
