BZERO Materials

BZERO Materials is a Spanish biomaterials company established in 2021 that specializes in the development and production of tailor-made bioplastic formulations. The company focuses on creating high-performance materials using renewable resources, including thermoplastic starch technology, designed to replace conventional fossil plastics. By collaborating across the entire value chain, BZERO aims to produce home-compostable films and other sustainable alternatives that maintain the mechanical properties required for industrial applications while remaining cost-competitive.

These materials serve as drop-in substitutes for low-density polyethylene in products such as flexible packaging, food nets, labels, and bags. By offering scalable, performance-oriented bioplastics, BZERO supports businesses in meeting evolving EU packaging regulations and sustainability goals. The company has secured significant seed funding to transition from pilot projects to commercial production volumes, enabling it to deliver sustainable packaging solutions to food packaging groups and other industrial partners.
