Flexora is a Dresden-based deep-tech startup developing highly flexible, printed organic sensor foils. The technology enables cost-effective, large-area real-time monitoring of industrial processes to maximize resource efficiency.
Flexora GmbH is a deep-tech startup and spin-off from the Dresden Integrated Center for Applied Physics and Photonic Materials at TU Dresden. The company specializes in the development and production of highly flexible, printed sensor foils based on organic electronics. By utilizing additive manufacturing in a roll-to-roll process, Flexora creates thin, cost-effective sensor films that can be applied to complex surfaces like a second skin. These films are designed to monitor various physical parameters, including temperature, pressure, and structural damage, with the capability to integrate up to 10,000 sensors per square meter. The technology aims to overcome the limitations of traditional, bulky sensor solutions by enabling large-area, real-time data collection and wireless transmission.
This technology provides significant value to manufacturers and plant operators in the energy and process technology sectors, helping them optimize resource efficiency and improve system control. By providing continuous, area-based data, the company addresses the challenge of monitoring large-scale industrial assets where traditional cabling and discrete sensors are impractical or cost-prohibitive. Flexora’s approach supports Industry 4.0 initiatives and the energy transition by enabling digitized, high-resolution process automation that is easier to install and more sustainable than conventional alternatives. Supported by seed funding and institutional backing, the company is scaling its production capabilities at its Dresden site to meet growing industrial demand for data-driven efficiency.
