HaloBraid

Halo is a technology company that has developed HaloBraid, an automated braid-assist device designed to work alongside professional hair stylists. The system functions by having a stylist initiate the braid by hand, after which the device takes over to complete the process five times faster while matching the stylist's established technique. By utilizing robotics and advanced engineering, the device aims to perform intricate hair manipulation gently and consistently. The technology was created by founder Yinka Ogunbiyi, a biomechanical engineer who drew inspiration from her own experiences with the time-consuming and labor-intensive nature of traditional braiding.

For stylists and their clients, this technology addresses significant industry pain points, such as excessively long appointment times that can last up to six hours, and the physical fatigue or chronic health issues often faced by practitioners. By increasing the speed and efficiency of the service, HaloBraid enables stylists to manage their time more effectively and potentially increase their client capacity. The product is intended to serve as a supportive tool for professionals, preserving their creative control while enhancing the ergonomics and scalability of the salon services industry. Following a successful development phase, including extensive prototype testing and backing from prominent investors, the company is preparing to roll out the device to professional salons.
