Wyoming Hyperscale White Box LLC is a developer of sustainable, liquid-cooled hyperscale data centers. It pioneered an eco-friendly campus model in Wyoming designed for high-performance AI compute, which later merged into Prometheus Hyperscale.
Wyoming Hyperscale White Box LLC was founded in 2020 by the Thornock family to develop highly efficient, sustainable hyperscale data centers on family-owned ranch land near Evanston, Wyoming. The company focused on constructing a liquid-cooled, carbon-negative data center ecosystem that integrates renewable wind energy, avoids water usage, and repurposes waste heat for indoor farming. Its infrastructure was designed to support high-performance AI and machine learning workloads, featuring advanced technologies such as nickel-zinc battery backup systems and direct-to-chip immersion cooling. In 2024, the company merged into a new entity named Prometheus Hyperscale, which expanded the original project capacity from 120MW to 1GW and announced plans for additional data center sites across Colorado and Arizona.
By prioritizing modular, sustainable designs that operate at significantly lower capital costs than conventional expansions, the company aimed to provide mission-critical infrastructure for large content delivery networks and high-density compute applications. The project gained industry recognition for its ambitious combination of geothermal coupling, fiber connectivity, and sustainable climate-tech partnerships, establishing a blueprint for modern, efficient digital infrastructure. Following the merger, founder Trenton Thornock transitioned to the role of CEO of Prometheus Hyperscale, continuing the initiative to revolutionize the data center industry through innovative, power-dense solutions.
