I combine multiscale molecular simulations with protein engineering to elucidate enzyme mechanisms and nucleic‑acid recognition, and to build genetically encoded fluorescent ion sensors for live‑cell imaging. Additional work addresses carbohydrate–lectin binding and chromophore excited‑state dynamics.
