While enzymatic activity of Cu/Zn Superoxide Dismutase, an antioxidant enzyme, is well understood, targets of its enzymatic product, hydrogen peroxide, are not well understood. We show how this peroxide is critical for cellular signaling, shedding new light on how Sod1 helps fight disease.
