Research combines fungal, algal, and biofilm-based systems with advanced sensing, AI/ML, and process control to address challenges in wastewater treatment, resource recovery, carbon management, and circular bioeconomy technologies. Experience includes bioconversion of diverse biomass and waste-derived feedstocks, extracellular bioproduct generation, bioreactor operation, process optimisation, and development of resilient, data-driven environmental and industrial bioprocesses.Current work aims to advance circular bioeconomy solutions through the valorisation of waste streams, carbon management, and intelligent process optimisation.
