Dr. Kjellerup has trained as an environmental engineer and microbiologist specializing in beneficial and detrimental aspects of microbial communities. Focus areas: 1) biofilms on sorptive materials for bioremediation; 2) biofilm formation including biofouling and biocorrosion in engineered systems; 3) viral detection in sanitary installations and wastewater.
