I am an iInternationally recognized civil engineering researcher in Microbially Induced Carbonate Precipitation (MICP). I foster interdisciplinary collaborations with microbiologists, soil and plant scientists, and ecological engineers.
About
My career focuses on advancing resilient infrastructure through biogeotechnics. My research has been recognized for its groundbreaking contributions to the biogeotechnics field through societal awards and invited talks. I am a leader in research investigating microbial induced carbonate precipitation (MICP) for infrastructure applications, including those subjected to natural hazards (earthquake-induced liquefaction, and coastal/offshore erosion). I have extended my research to address anthropogenic hazards (stabilizing tailings and inducing carbon sequestration).
