Plant-microbe interactions for sustainable agriculture
About
We study the ecological, physiological, and genetic mechanisms governing community assembly and function of fungi and bacteria in plants and soils. We are particularly interested in how fungi can enhance plant access to soil nutrients and rescue or protect plants from drought and pathogens. In addition, we ask how plant and soil microbiomes impact ecosystem carbon, nutrient, and water cycling. Ultimately, our goal is to develop predictive frameworks that enable better translation of microbial tools for on-farm applicat
