Firouzeh Sabri leads research in experimental materials physics, nanotechnology, and aerogel science. She is also interested in STEM work force development efforts. Her work centers on the synthesis, characterization, and understanding of bulk and surface properties of nanomaterials, with a strong emphasis on aerogels and related mesoporous materials. Her group studies Elastomeric materials and mesoporous aerogels for applications in space exploration, including cryogenic tank material. Her research employs a variety of characterization techniques to analyze neat, doped, and compound materials. I am also interested in understanding the biophysics of the peripheral nervous system and developing smart interfaces for accelerating the regeneration and growth of the peripheral nervous system.
