Using genomic selection to rapidly increase medicinal crop yield
About
I started out in the sustainable farming and herbalism realm and then moved on to get my PhD in plant breeding and machine learning. My research focuses on how crop breeders can transition to genomics-based breeding methods. My new company, Cultivai Botanical Sciences, is using machine learning and genomics to increase the compound yield of common medicinal plants. We partner with farmers to grow our new varieties and sell active ingredients to cosmeceutical companies and pharmaceutical companies.
