I have a PhD in molecular biology with a focus on plant science, where I worked at the intersection of biology and computation, including using machine learning to identify gene candidates for CRISPR editing. My work gave me firsthand experience with the gap between scientific insight and reliable experimental execution. After academia, I spent several years as a deep-tech venture capitalist, partnering closely with founders to shape strategy, build teams, and scale technically complex companies. I enjoy working alongside startups and research teams, and I believe strong partnerships are critical to Ursa's success. I aim to help industry and early-stage companies overcome execution bottlenecks, scale experiments with confidence, and turn ambitious science into commercial solutions.
