About
I am an Associate Professor of Environmental Science and soil-health researcher at the University of Arizona. My work integrates microbial ecology, biogeochemistry, agronomy, and environmental sensing to solve challenges in water-limited agriculture. I lead collaborative research on soil health, nutrient cycling, greenhouse-gas mitigation, water conservation, salinity and sodicity management, and soil carbon. Working with growers and industry across the Desert Southwest, I evaluate amendments, fertilizer and irrigation strategies, biological products, monitoring technologies, and sustainability metrics. My goal is to translate rigorous science into scalable, economically practical solutions that improve productivity, resource efficiency, and long-term resilience.
