Dr. Kamila Kochan works at the interface of biophotonics and analytical chemistry, specialising in IR and Raman spectroscopy integrated with chemometric and machine learning approaches. Her research focuses on developing rapid, objective, and non-invasive molecular phenotyping platforms for antimicrobial resistance and biomedical diagnostics, with strong emphasis on clinical translation and cost-effective deployment. She has a strong track record in applying vibrational spectroscopy across diverse systems, with over 60 peer-reviewed publications, multiple awards including recognition as an Australian Leader in Molecular Spectroscopy, and two international patents (with a third in preparation). Dr. Kochan has led several competitive and industry-funded projects across Australia and Europe.
