My laboratory has approached challenging questions with development of new technology and novel strategies. The main focus is on light/plant interaction, design of small molecules that disrupt biological processes, & use of genomics tools to define genes relevant to agriculturally-relevant traits, such as dormancy and consumer sensory traits. I have extensive background in communications and public engagement. One of my passions is training scientists, physicians and industry employees in the art of contentious issues conversations.
