Plants are the basis of all life on Earth. Their development as high-yielding crops and their use for the production of valuable plant biopolymers and secondary metabolites require a precise knowledge of the developmental and metabolic pathways involved in order to modify and optimize them in a targeted manner. Thus, we investigate modifications of the plant´s architecture to increase biomass and yield of plants using modern breeding methods. Furthermore, we are dedicated to the sustainable production of sufficient quantities of high-quality medicinal plants.
