My work focuses on application-based approaches to design of polymers and plastics from biologically relevant and sustainable feedstocks. I have a particular interest in dynamically bonded materials, which are thermosets that behave like thermoplastics at elevated temperatures. Some of my recent work has focused on combining pathways for upcycling post-consumer plastic waste while increasing the weight percent of bio-derived content. While this is my main goal, I have several other interests in drug delivery vehicles, separations chemistry, and additive manufacturing
