Low‑temp (<200 °C), closed‑loop, additive-tolerant, modular process that turns unsorted, mixed, multilayer PET/PU/PC/PA into drop‑in monomers
About
Re-Du is a low-temp (<200 °C), selective-catalysis platform that breaks down mixed plastic waste (PET, PU, PC, PA) into virgin-quality monomers. Developed and scaled at ORNL with DOE support, it offers a de-risked path to circularity—cutting GHGs by 75–95% and energy use by 68–94% vs. virgin production. It processes colored, multilayer, and blended plastics without sorting, producing drop-in monomers. Re-Du turns federal R&D into a scalable, investable solution for real-world waste and circular demand.
