At Heriot-Watt University we're looking at how soft tissues change with disease from a mechanical perspective and then using that understanding to develop novel technologies. Right now we have a device that can measure inflammatory changes in skin.

We're looking to partner with companies looking to understand how their products change skin properties. We are also looking to link with pharmacy organisations/companies who may be interested in exploring pilots with us, to enable them new eczema/psoriasis support services.
About
My background includes a PhD at the University of Queensland in Biomedical Engineering, working on a microneedle vaccine technology. This work led to publications, presentations and patents which were licenced to Vaxxas Pty Ltd, a start-up company (which i joined in 2011) established with $15m funding to commercialise this technology. As a foundational team member i worked on diverse projects and leading aspects of the device development engineering. I returned to academia in 2014 to establish research in the area of microdevices for health. In late 2017 I joined Heriot-Watt University as Professor in Biomedical Engineering. I have built my research focus on microtechnolgies for tissue-based measurement and sensing for clinical needs - both in academic and commercial areas.
