Developing microbial consortia for in-situ groundwater bioremediation (selenium, arsenic, PFAS) and biological recovery of critical minerals (lithium, cobalt, nickel) from brines and waste streams, guided by machine learning and multi-omics characterization.

Industry partners with contaminated groundwater sites or critical-mineral-bearing process streams interested in microbial bioremediation or recovery solutions. Sponsored research, joint development, and collaborative R&D agreements all welcome.
About
I am a postdoctoral researcher at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory working at the intersection of microbial ecology, environmental biogeochemistry, and machine learning. I design microbial communities for in-situ groundwater bioremediation (PFAS, selenium, arsenic) and biological recovery of critical minerals (Li, Co, Ni) from brines and waste streams, combining multi-omics characterization with ML-guided consortium assembly. I help industry solve problems where conventional chemical or single-organism biological approaches fall short — particularly when selectivity, in-situ deployment, or mixed-contaminant chemistry rules out standard treatments. I am part of Climate and Ecosystem Science Division and contribute to the DOE-funded ENIGMA SFA and LBNL-LDRD.
