Plastics and composites processing advancements for sustainability and biobased materials
About
Peng Gao, Assistant Professor at Western Washington University, researches sustainable polymer processing with a focus on injection molding of bioplastics and recycled plastics. His work explores polymer crystallization, morphology, and structure–property relationships to improve performance and sustainability. Recent projects include adaptive process control for recycled polypropylene, vibration-assisted molding of PLA, and studies on embodied energy in polymer grades. I aim to advance circular economy strategies through innovative processing methods.
