Pulegone acts at a new target and is selectively toxic to thrips
About
Two pulegone stereoisomers are selectively toxic to thrips (tested in China, Hawaii and the US mainland). The potency is similar to the commercial insecticides. (+)-isomer is also toxic to spotted wing Drosophila [(-)-isomer not tested yet], but not very toxic to bees. It may act at a new target.
