I am a pediatrician Metabolic Diseases (UMC-Utrecht) and PI in the RMCU (Hubrecht Institute). To address the enormous unmet need in care for patients with metabolic/genetic diseases, I employ innovative strategies like liver organoids and prime editing to develop treatments for these patients that currently lack curative therapies. I was awarded prestigious grants (ZonMW AGIKO, ZonMW Clinical Fellows, ERC Starting grant) and prizes (KNAW-Ammodo Science Award for Groundbreaking Research).
