My research spans microbial genomics and host–pathogen biology, integrating comparative/functional genomics and bioinformatics. We engineer lactic acid bacteria for protein/DNA delivery and live vaccine vectors, study probiotic immunomodulation, and build diagnostics and genomic surveillance for bacterial and viral threats.
