I use machine learning models like RFdiffusion, ProteinMPNN, and AlphaFold to design novel proteins for applications in biomaterials, catalysis, and more. My current projects involve designing light-controlled proteins and redesigning enzymes for substrate specificity.

Funding opportunities/co-applicants for anything protein design. Areas of high interest to me are biominerals/materials, biocomputing, tissue/morphogen engineering, CBI, viral engineering, and enzymatic drug production. I am most experienced in biomaterial and enzyme design.
About
I started learning about the field of de novo protein design during my undergrad with the Snow Lab at Colorado State University. I would eventually do my thesis project with the Snow Lab, designing tandem repeat proteins for protein crystal formation. During my time there, I worked in many other labs to fund my education. I worked with a lab on mosquito genome/transcriptome analysis, another lab on ice-nucleating proteins in the aerobiome, and another lab on molecular dynamics and package development.
I am currently rotating with the Khare Lab at Rutgers-NB, where I am redesigning enzymes for high substrate specificity. I would like to stay in the field of computational protein design for my PhD and future academic work. I am especially looking for interdisciplinary projects.
