AxNano offers an atmospheric water extraction (AWE) system that produces up to 5,000 liters of potable water per day from ambient air. Designed for industrial deployment, the compact unit integrates multi-barrier air filtration and a proprietary heat exchanger to help manufacturing facilities reduce water demand and secure clean water supply.

Overview

AxNano's atmospheric water extraction (AWE) system addresses industrial water scarcity by generating potable water directly from ambient air. Designed for deployment at manufacturing facilities, the technology targets locations with moderate humidity and temperature conditions, providing an alternative or supplementary source of process and potable water. By leveraging available electrical power, the system enables facilities to decrease dependence on local water supplies while supporting sustainability and operational resilience goals. The solution is particularly relevant for operations in regions facing water stress, including APAC, MENA, and LATAM.

Technical specifications
  • Daily output capacity: Produces up to 5,000 liters of potable water per day under nominal conditions
  • Air filtration: Multi-barrier air filtration integrated into the extraction process
  • Heat exchange: Proprietary heat exchanger design for efficient condensation and water recovery
  • Operating envelope: Validated at temperatures as low as 15°C and humidity as low as 20%, with output ranging between 3,000 and 5,000 liters per day
  • Power requirements: Estimated 60–90 kW consumption; compatible with 3-phase electricity at 400 V / 50 Hz and 480 V / 60 Hz
  • Form factor: Compact footprint of approximately 2.8 m × 2.2 m × 2.6 m, weighing under 2,700 kg, suitable for industrial rooftop installation
  • Compliance testing: Electrical safety testing aligned with CE, CA, and CB (IEC 60204-1) standards; water quality testing aligned with IS-5452 standards
  • Energy flexibility: Compatible with both traditional grid electricity and renewable energy sources
Technology readiness level

The AWE pilot unit has undergone preliminary testing across varied temperature, humidity, and electrical configurations, confirming output ranges and form factor viability for industrial settings. Validation efforts are now focused on two objectives: completing a feasibility study to determine capital and operating expenditures for three candidate manufacturing sites, and identifying system optimization opportunities to plan an on-site pilot demonstration. The technology is at the pilot stage, with structured deliverables and go/no-go decision points planned to advance toward broader commercial deployment.
