What It Is BioForge CoolSkin™ is a topical thermal-management lotion that helps the body manage heat rather than just masking it with a cooling sensation. Unlike conventional cooling products that rely on sensory ingredients (like menthol) to create a cold feeling, CoolSkin is engineered as a functional thermal-engineering platform delivered in a familiar, lightweight lotion format — no batteries, refrigeration, or powered devices required.

Why It Matters Heat exposure is a growing everyday problem across outdoor work, sports, recreation, and extreme summer conditions. Existing solutions are largely external (fans, AC, cooling towels, specialized clothing) and often impractical, or topical but purely sensory — addressing perception without touching the underlying thermal load. CoolSkin opens a new functional category, topical thermal management, sitting at the intersection of skin care, personal cooling, outdoor performance, and materials science — creating both a differentiated product opportunity and a category-expansion opportunity for partners.

How It Works CoolSkin combines four mechanisms in one formulation:

Reflect — A proprietary photonic mineral system scatters and reflects incoming solar radiation before it converts to heat at the skin surface.

Release — Selected materials support the skin's natural passive radiative heat release.

Evaporate — A water-based architecture produces immediate evaporative cooling upon application.

Cool — A controlled sensory-cooling system reinforces the physical mechanisms with a noticeable cooling sensation.

As the volatile fraction evaporates, the functional materials remain as a thin residual film, creating an ongoing thermal-management interface rather than a one-time sensory hit. The formulation is designed to be lightweight, non-gritty, cosmetically acceptable, and compatible with everyday active use.

Proof to Date CoolSkin is currently an R&D-stage platform. The physics behind each mechanism — solar reflectance, passive infrared emission, evaporative cooling, sensory cooling — are independently well established in roofing, textiles, aerospace, and industrial coatings. BioForge's innovation is combining these principles into a single skin-applied, cosmetically viable lotion. Work to date has focused on achieving a stable, homogeneous dispersion of the photonic/mineral system within a topical base while preserving sensory acceptability (non-chalking, non-oily, pleasant feel). Formal third-party efficacy testing (surface-temperature reduction under simulated solar load, quantified cooling duration) has not yet been completed and is the next validation milestone.
