Title: Autonomous TinyML Universal Multi-Gas Sensor Calibration Framework via Triangulated Metrology Target Platform: Halo.science Partnership Listing Technology Readiness Level: TRL 4 – Validated in Lab Conditions Target Analytes: VOCs, Inorganic Gases (CO, NO2, H2S, NH3), and Toxic Industrial Chemicals

  1. Executive Summary Low-cost electronic gas sensors suffer from baseline drift, non-linear decay, cross-sensitivity, and lack of field calibration. Project Halo-TTPV pairs a patented Bare Metal Fusion Engine with a three-node Traceability, Calibration, and Performance Verification (TTPV) framework. By integrating micro-gravimetric mass-loss metrology, colorimetric chemical verification, and certified reference instrumentation, Project Halo-TTPV trains an embedded TinyML Brain on microcontrollers for autonomous baseline auto-correction and real-time health-risk evaluation at the edge.

  2. Technology Readiness Level (TRL 4 - Validated in Lab) The core physical metrology, chamber dynamics, and mathematical algorithms are validated in a lab environment: a) Hermetic Multi-Gas Chamber: Verified a 13.3L sealed chamber with micro-vortex fan convection for rapid flash evaporation and gas mixing.

b) Gravimetric Micro-Metrology: Primary mass-loss tracking using a Sartorius 0.001 mg microbalance via capillary touch-off (W1 - W2), bypassing syringe markings.

c) Mathematical Traceability: Proven ideal gas law modeling mapping microgram mass loss directly to theoretical PPM ground truth.

d) Triangulation: Captured UART telemetry from multi-gas sensors and verified against Gas Tec colorimetric stain tubes.

  1. Eligible Partnership Models We are open to flexible collaboration frameworks on Halo.science: a) Co-Development: Jointly engineer micro-vortex chambers, C++ libraries, and TinyML neural networks.

b) Licensing: Acquire commercial rights to embed patented Bare Metal Fusion Engine algorithms and TinyML firmware into proprietary hardware.

c) Pilot or Trial Engagement: Deploy the TTPV chamber architecture and calibration framework in industrial facilities for field benchmarking.

d) Sponsored Research: Fund target expansions to additional toxic gases, expanding the gravimetric matrix and neural models.

e) Equity Investment: Capital investment to accelerate IP protection, hardware production, and global commercial scaling.

  1. Technical Architecture & Triangulated Metrology a) Node 1: Absolute Gravimetric Primary Standard. Uses a Sartorius 0.001 mg microbalance for reverse-weighing (W1 - W2) of capped micro-dispensors to calculate exact chamber PPM.

b) Node 2: Colorimetric Chemical Benchmark. Draws chamber air through Gas Tec chemical stain tubes to visually verify phase transition.

c) Node 3: Analytical Reference Standard. Integrates laboratory reference analyzers (PID, NDIR) to capture concentration dynamics.

  1. Embedded TinyML Brain & Fusion Engine a) Register Execution: Runs directly on microcontrollers without OS overhead for microsecond execution.

b) Dynamic Compensation: Ingests raw sensor streams, temperature, and humidity to auto-correct zero-point drift.

c) Health Risk Engine: Translates calibrated PPM into immediate safety metrics (STEL, TWA) for autonomous safety control.

  1. Commercialization & Partner Resources We seek partners to advance Project Halo-TTPV from TRL 4 to commercial deployment via funding for IP filings, access to reference hardware, and industrial field pilot testing.

About Universiti Sains Malaysia

Universiti Sains Malaysia is a comprehensive public research university with a multi‑campus footprint anchored in Penang, plus an engineering campus in Nibong Tebal and a health campus in Kelantan. Its base beside Penang’s Bayan Lepas industrial zone and on‑site microelectronics design facilities connect directly to the region’s electronics supply chain, enabling co‑located work and talent pipelines. Integration with the USM Specialist Hospital supports clinical research, trials, and translation. Research is backed by competitive national funding from the Ministry of Higher Education and the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation, coordinated through a central research office. Technology transfer is supported by a Centre for Innovation & Consultation and the university’s corporate arm, USAINS Holdings, which channels testing and consultancy to industry.
