A robust, affordable, and user-friendly IoT-based portable device that non-invasively tests micronutrient levels in sweat, saliva, and urine using AI-interpreted colorimetric sensors. Ideal for real-time, on-site analysis of vitamins and minerals.

Overview

The Portable IoT System for Non-Invasive Nutrient Monitoring offers a groundbreaking solution for real-time, on-site detection of essential micronutrients in bodily fluids such as sweat, oral fluid, and urine. This innovation leverages a combination of IoT-based portable multisensor devices and AI-driven analytics to deliver robust, affordable, and simple testing solutions. Users can easily perform tests using colorimetric paper strips with immobilized reagents, which are then analyzed by a smartphone app using artificial neural networks to provide selective quantification of micronutrients.

Technical specifications
  • Core Technology: IoT-based portable multisensor device
  • Detection Method: Colorimetric response on paper strips with immobilized reagents
  • Data Interpretation: AI tools, including neural networks, via a smartphone app
  • Target Micronutrients: Vitamins (B1, B12, C, D) and minerals (Ca, Fe, Mg, Mn, P, Cu)
  • Applications: Home testing, real-time health monitoring, non-invasive diagnostics
  • Features: Robust measurement, affordability, simplicity, real-time analysis, user-friendly interface
Technology readiness level

This technology is currently at Technology Readiness Level 3. Initial validations have confirmed the feasibility of the approach, with ongoing development focusing on reagent optimization and dataset generation.
