Bio-based Spray Polyurethane Foam (SPF) insulation is a high-performance insulation system for residential, commercial, and industrial buildings. It combines thermal insulation, air sealing, and moisture control in one application, helping improve indoor comfort, reduce energy use, and strengthen the building envelope over the long term.

This project matters because buildings today need insulation systems that do more than slow heat transfer. SPF can reduce heating and cooling loads, limit uncontrolled air leakage, improve durability, and support better overall energy performance. In climates such as Ontario, where buildings face major seasonal temperature changes, these benefits are especially important.

The system works by applying spray foam that expands in place and forms a continuous insulation layer. Once installed, it fills gaps, seals joints, and helps create an efficient barrier across walls, roofs, basements, and other building areas. It is designed to provide strong adhesion, reliable thermal resistance, and long-term performance when installed under controlled conditions by qualified professionals.

Proof to date includes a defined project scope, installation workflow, target performance criteria, and a quality-control plan. The proposal already sets goals for thermal efficiency, adhesion, dimensional stability, air control, and moisture resistance. It also outlines a compliance path based on recognized Canadian standards, certified systems, qualified installers, and documented field testing for thickness, density, and uniformity.

Next steps include finalizing the technical approach, confirming certification and compliance documents, preparing site-specific safety and quality-control procedures, and moving toward licensed installation and final verification. The project will then proceed through on-site testing, compliance reporting, and close-out documentation to ensure performance, safety, and code alignment.

About Evoco LTD

Evoco Ltd. is a material innovation company that develops a plant-based technology platform designed to defossilize the global material value chain. Founded in 2017 and headquartered in Toronto, Canada, the company utilizes its proprietary chemistry to create high-performance, sustainable alternatives to traditional petrochemical-derived materials. Its core product line, including the patented FATES bio-foam, replaces fossil-based raw materials in industrial applications while maintaining performance standards. By integrating these scalable bio-materials into existing supply chains, Evoco enables manufacturers to produce consumer and industrial goods that are lower in carbon impact without sacrificing product quality. The company operates globally with facilities in Canada, China, Vietnam, and Italy, and holds multiple patents related to its material sciences.

Evoco’s solutions address the urgent need for decarbonization in the consumer goods and footwear sectors, where they have successfully replaced traditional foams in products for global brands such as Vans, Timberland, Keen, and Kodiak. Their materials are verified through third-party certifications, providing transparency regarding bio-content and carbon reduction for their partners. By focusing on industrial-scale production and continuous R&D, the company helps its clients transition away from carbon-intensive feedstocks. Having secured Series A funding to scale its operations, Evoco is currently expanding its material applications beyond footwear into new verticals, including automotive, furniture, bedding, and fashion, to support its mission of closing the loop on unsustainable material production.
