What it is

This project is an innovative biological technology platform designed to enable a new generation of functional food and beverage products intended to enhance, regulate, and support immune system function through the digestive system.

The platform comprises three distinct but related development pathways. Two require Technology Validation as the next major step. The third follows an independent pathway, is not dependent on the validation outcomes of the other two, and primarily requires further optimization. This structure allows development to continue through more than one pathway while validation is being conducted.

Why it matters

The opportunity is supported by the increasing global burden of immune-related disorders and strong demand for functional food and beverage products.

A 2025 study by Liang et al., based on the Global Burden of Disease Study 2021 and covering 204 countries and territories, reported that the prevalence of endocrine, metabolic, blood, and immune disorders increased from 284.95 million cases in 1990 to 475.78 million in 2021, with further increases projected through 2050.

Published estimates place the global functional food and beverage market at approximately USD 398.8 billion in 2025, projected to reach approximately USD 983.1 billion by 2034. Innova Market Insights reported that 26% of consumers worldwide had purchased functional food and beverage products for immunity support during the previous 12 months.

These trends indicate growing commercial relevance for new functional food and beverage technologies associated with immune-system function.

How it works

The platform uses a chain-based biological approach designed to act through the digestive system rather than relying solely on the direct addition of conventional functional ingredients.

The underlying biological mechanisms, technical architecture, components, and their interactions constitute confidential know-how and will be disclosed under appropriate confidentiality conditions.

Proof to date

The platform has progressed through its initial development phase and is currently at the Experimental Proof of Concept stage (TRL 3), with Technology Validation as the next major objective.

The scientific basis is supported by existing human and animal evidence and scientific literature. A structured Technology Validation program has been designed, including defined testing objectives and evaluation criteria.

Next steps

We are seeking a strategic partner through one of two pathways:

  1. Technology Validation Partnership — collaboration on Technology Validation, with the potential to continue into product development and commercialization.

  2. End-to-End Strategic Partnership — collaboration from Technology Validation through product development, scale-up, production, commercialization, market entry, and international distribution.

In either pathway, our objective is a long-term strategic relationship. Potential structures may include co-development, sponsored research, licensing, and strategic equity participation.
