A cutting-edge platform for measuring and modeling human anatomy using 3D surface anthropometry and medical imaging data, focused on engineering applications involving multiple functional postures.

Overview

Our advanced human body measurement and modeling technology leverages 3D surface anthropometry and the extraction of geometry from medical imaging data to provide detailed anatomical models. This technology is particularly useful for engineering applications requiring accurate representations of human anatomy in various functional postures, such as ergonomic design, medical device development, and biomechanical analysis.

Technical specifications

Key features:

  • Expertise in 3D surface anthropometry and geometry extraction from medical imaging
  • World-leading statistical model of pelvis geometry to address challenges related to posture changes
  • Potential for collaboration with medical centers equipped with open MRI systems for enhanced imaging

The technology addresses the complexities of anatomical changes due to posture variations, with a focus on high-precision data collection and modeling. Our ongoing research includes designing cost-effective open MRI studies to optimize data quality from small datasets.

Technology readiness level

This technology is currently at a Technology Readiness Level (TRL) of 5, indicating that it has been validated in relevant environments but is not yet ready for full commercialization. Continued collaboration with medical centers and industry partners will aid in further advancing the technology's readiness.
