Innovative AI-driven platform that enhances micronutrient delivery by improving stability, absorption, and bioavailability through rational formulation design. Utilizes data-driven strategies, PBPK modeling, and molecular dynamics for efficient formulation development.
This innovative solution leverages an AI-driven platform to enhance the delivery of micronutrients by improving their stability, absorption, and bioavailability. The AI-driven formulation design approach employs a rational strategy to optimize delivery systems, addressing the common issues of poor solubility and enzymatic degradation that affect many vitamins and minerals. This approach accelerates the development of micronutrient products, providing a more efficient and cost-effective solution compared to traditional trial-and-error methods.
Key features:
This solution is at Technology Readiness Level 5. It has been validated through AI-directed formulation strategy design and initial experimental and mechanistic validation phases. Further validation is planned through PBPK modeling to predict in vivo behavior of optimized formulations.
UM is a comprehensive research-oriented public university in Macao with more than 16,800 students and an international character. Its Hengqin campus, operating under Macao SAR jurisdiction, links Macao, Zhuhai, and the Guangdong–Hong Kong–Macao Greater Bay Area. Industry engagement is supported by three state key laboratories, more than 30 joint laboratories, and the Zhuhai UM Science & Technology Research Institute, a platform for industry–education–research collaboration and technology transfer. Research draws on Macao SAR funding and national support from China’s Ministry of Science and Technology and the National Natural Science Foundation of China. Knowledge-transfer, entrepreneurship, and commercialisation units support IP management, incubation, licensing, and consulting.
