AI-enabled pest monitoring platform combining connected smart traps, computer vision, and a digital interface to automate insect detection and identification. Reduces manual scouting and provides continuous pest activity data. Being adapted for residential, lawn, and garden applications through co-development, including trap optimization, target-pest image datasets, AI model validation, and consumer-friendly alerts.
Insect Track Solutions has developed an AI-enabled pest monitoring platform that combines computer vision, connected Smart Traps, and a digital interface. The Smart Trap automatically captures images of insects collected on a sticky surface and transmits them for AI-assisted identification and monitoring. This reduces the need for manual scouting while providing continuous insight into pest presence and activity over time. The platform is being adapted from its agricultural monitoring roots to address residential, lawn, and garden pests. The adapted solution is intended to support earlier detection and more informed, targeted pest management decisions in these environments. The company is seeking co-development partners with consumer product, testing, manufacturing, and market access expertise to adapt, validate, and pilot the platform.

Expertise: The team spans entomology, integrated pest management, AI/software, and hardware engineering.
The core Smart Trap and AI monitoring platform already exists and is being tested in relevant outdoor environments. The current program focuses on adapting and validating the technology for residential, lawn, and garden pest applications. The proposed phased approach includes defining priority pests and requirements, adapting the hardware and imaging system, building and validating the image dataset and AI models, and conducting controlled and relevant-environment trials. This work is intended to identify hardware, software, manufacturing, and regulatory requirements needed to move toward a commercial pilot.
