AmLite Ultra Recyclable is the first flexible packaging laminate to use a breakthrough high-barrier OPP film with SiOx coating, replacing PET in multi-layer structures and reducing carbon footprint by 64% while enabling recyclability.

Overview

Conventional high-barrier flexible packaging uses multi-material laminates (PET/aluminium/polyolefin) that are not recyclable. AmLite Ultra replaces the PET and metal layers with a high-barrier oriented polypropylene (OPP) film coated with an ultra-thin silicon oxide (SiOx) barrier layer, making the entire structure polyolefin-based and compatible with existing recycling streams. The 64% carbon footprint reduction comes from eliminating metal and PET layers.
