Overview

Our rat model of autoantibody-associated vasculitis (AAV) offers a robust platform for testing new therapeutic interventions. This model is characterized by anti-neutrophil cytoplasmic antibodies (ANCA) with myeloperoxidase (MPO) as the key antigen, mirroring the human disease. This model accurately replicates the clinical conditions of AAV, including renal and pulmonary manifestations, providing an invaluable tool for preclinical studies.

  • Disease Replication: The model exhibits clinical features such as rapidly progressive glomerulonephritis and pulmonary capillaritis.
  • Immune Activation: Mimics human immune response with both innate and adaptive immunity activation, including high levels of cytokines like IL-6, IL-8, IL-2, and IL-4.
  • Versatile Readouts: Allows detailed analysis of renal function, histology, and inflammation through techniques like IHC, FACS, and ELISPOTs.
