Applied molecular and microbial discovery and functional de-risking platform

NexysBio is an applied biotechnology R&D company focused on translating biological concepts into experimentally validated, commercially actionable solutions through microbial discovery, functional screening, assay development, and preclinical de-risking. Our approach combines targeted isolation and enrichment, phenotype-driven screening, molecular identification, and application-specific functional testing to identify biological candidates that perform under conditions relevant to the intended product—not simply under ideal laboratory conditions. Current programs include discovery and characterization of plant-derived beneficial microorganisms with tolerance to challenging environmental conditions, followed by functional testing for traits such as pathogen inhibition, metabolic activity, and formulation compatibility. NexysBio has established laboratory workflows for microbial isolation, strain-library development, stress-selection, molecular identification, and comparative functional screening, and is currently advancing client-funded strain-discovery programs using this staged approach. By resolving technical uncertainty early, we aim to reduce the cost and risk of downstream product development while generating well-characterized candidates and defensible datasets for our partners. Next steps include expanding functional validation, whole-genome and safety characterization, simulated-use testing, formulation and scale-up studies, and ultimately external animal or application-specific validation of the highest-performing candidates.
