A novel cellulose derivative bioplastic offering a sustainable alternative to traditional plastics. It utilizes existing industrial forming technologies and features a closed-loop, low-energy, and environmentally benign production process.
This innovative bioplastic solution utilizes a biodegradable cellulose derivative to replace traditional plastics in various industrial applications. Developed by Lincoln Agritech Ltd., this cellulose-based material is designed to work with existing plastic production methods, such as 3D printing, thermoforming, and injection molding. The bioplastic is pure cellulose and biodegrades naturally, ensuring it is both compostable and environmentally friendly. Its production process is closed-loop, involving low-energy usage and safe, reusable chemicals.
This bioplastic technology is currently at Technology Readiness Level 3. Future validation efforts will focus on optimizing the manufacturing process, testing material properties, demonstrating the closed-loop recyclability, and conducting industry trials to ensure its viability in real-world applications.
