Resource-saving biopolymer compositions for pre-sowing seed treatment using cavitation-treated water and microencapsulated fertilizers. Targets 2–5x reduction in fertilizer use and 10–25% yield increase across crop production.
This solution introduces biopolymer-based compositions designed for the pre-sowing treatment of crop seeds. By combining natural water-soluble polymers with cavitation-treated water and microencapsulated mineral fertilizers and micronutrients, the technology aims to reduce chemical fertilizer consumption by 2–5 times per hectare while increasing crop yields by 10–25%. The approach supports resource-saving agriculture, lowers fuel and input costs, and offers a non-toxic, fire-safe alternative to conventional soil-applied fertilization.
The technology is at an early-to-mid stage of development. Initial validation has focused on forming stable aqueous biopolymer-fertilizer solutions and confirming reduced fertilizer consumption on seed surfaces versus soil application. Future work includes scaling to an industrial resource-saving pre-sowing treatment process, developing new high-yielding seed varieties, and pursuing patent protection in Ukraine and internationally. The solution is positioned for adoption in countries with established manufacturing and agricultural sectors.
