Innovative use of Cerosomes to effectively deliver ceramides to the Stratum corneum, enhancing skin barrier function with potential applications in skincare and dermatology.
The proposed solution introduces a novel approach to enhance the delivery of ceramides (CER) to the Stratum corneum (SC) using Cerosomes (CERO). This innovation addresses the lack of effective carrier systems capable of targeting CER to the SC, which is crucial for maintaining its barrier function. By leveraging the potential of CERO, this research aims to optimize the delivery of the key lipids CER NP and CER AP in the SC, which are essential for skin health and integrity.
Key features:
Currently at TRL 3, this technology is in the experimental proof-of-concept stage. Future validation steps include comprehensive physical-chemical evaluations and penetration testing on human skin samples to assess efficacy in real-world applications.
