Company

ComBatic is a validated antimicrobial solution targeting vaginal yeast infections, offering efficacy against common fungal agents with a focus on safety and stability. It combines organic metabolites and ionic salts to prevent resistance and reduce toxicity.

Overview

ComBatic is an innovative antimicrobial and antibiofilm solution designed to effectively treat vaginal yeast infections (VYI). Developed through the screening of over 18,000 formulations, ComBatic addresses the limitations of current antimicrobial agents, such as microbial resistance and host side effects. It has demonstrated efficacy against seven common fungal agents, including Candida albicans ATCC 90028. The solution is validated by cGMP and GLP compliant third-party labs, ensuring its safety, efficacy, and stability.

Technical specifications

Key features:

  • Combines agents from different antimicrobial classes to mitigate resistance development
  • Merges organic metabolites for safety and antioxidant properties with ionic salts for stability
  • Effective against both planktonic and biofilm forms of fungal agents
  • Demonstrates reduced toxicity to eukaryotes, making it suitable for VYI treatment

Applications:

  • Treatment of vaginal yeast infections, particularly Vulvovaginal candidiasis (VVC)
  • Synergistic potential with clotrimazole, enhancing antifungal potency
Technology readiness level

This technology is at TRL 5, having been validated in controlled laboratory environments. Future validation plans include testing against clinical isolates and drug-resistant strains of Candida, as well as exploring synergies with existing clotrimazole-based products.
