Composition-adaptive valorization routing for wet pectin side streams

Company

A composition-adaptive routing and validation system that turns variable wet pectin-production side streams into high-value products, using a Side-Stream State Passport and a read-only Process Integration Shadow Twin to select the most profitable, compliant route while minimizing water, energy, and waste.

Overview

This solution provides a systematic, data-driven approach to valorizing wet pectin-production side streams—materials that are typically acidic, moisture-rich, and compositionally variable. Instead of treating variability as a defect, the system uses it as an input to route each batch to the highest-value destination.

Core value proposition:

  • Converts a challenging waste stream into recoverable pectin, cellulose-rich fiber feedstocks, or composite materials
  • Reduces water and energy demand through low-energy dewatering and fractionation
  • Provides a clear regulatory and technical pathway by documenting nitrate disposition and product acceptance criteria
  • Minimizes integration risk by evaluating routes read-only before any capital commitment
Technical specifications

The system is built around two key components:

  • Side-Stream State Passport: A batch-specific record that captures moisture, pH, nitrate, residual pectin, sugars, ash, fiber condition, and process history. This passport enables precise routing decisions and traceability.
  • Process Integration Shadow Twin: A read-only digital model that compares destination-specific routes using mass and energy balances, product specifications, regulatory constraints, and available equipment.

The pilot program evaluates several valorization routes, including residual pectin recovery, production of cellulose-rich non-food fiber, composite feedstock, and low-energy dewatering and fractionation. Downgrade routes are retained as a fallback. Outputs include preferred route, yield, utility demand, acceptance criteria, nitrate disposition, and evidence to support scale-up.

Technology readiness level

The system is at the pilot-validation stage, with a six-month gated program that progresses through scoping, characterization, shadow evaluation, pilot testing, and scale decision. Each phase concludes with a go, revise, or stop decision. The program leverages demonstrated dewatering, extraction, and fiber-fractionation operations, validating their combination on representative industrial material. Successful completion will provide the basis for a field-limited pilot and subsequent licensing.

About Valor Infrastructure Holdings, LLC

Valor Infrastructure Holdings, LLC is a patent licensing firm that focuses on developing and licensing intellectual property for critical infrastructure. The company specializes in four core architectural clusters: AI data center thermal infrastructure, acoustic medical platform technology, atmospheric filtration, and infrastructure safety systems. Operating under a pure-licensing model, Valor designs and files foundational US patents, allowing industrial partners to manage the manufacturing, distribution, and deployment of the resulting technologies. Their approach centers on the creation of robust patent architectures that address technical challenges in efficiency, safety, and environmental control.

By licensing these architectures, Valor enables industry leaders to implement advanced systems such as phononic-crystal atmospheric filtration for hospitals, self-stabilizing infrastructure control surfaces, and acoustic-based water purification. These solutions are designed to integrate with modern networks, such as smart-hospital management systems, offering alternatives to traditional filter media or chemical-heavy processes. The company emphasizes a commitment to long-term intellectual property foundations as a means to foster innovation in complex infrastructure environments.
