A fixed-scope study that tells your team whether a technology, prototype or research direction can work, what could make it fail, and what to test next. It covers questions across physics, materials, chemistry, life sciences and computation, and is led by a PhD physicist (CEA-Leti / Université Grenoble Alpes).
What it covers Many R&D questions stall because they do not belong to one department: a sensor that is half electronics and half biology, a process that mixes chemistry and data science, or a startup claim that needs checking from first principles before an investment or partnership. I take the question as a whole, break it into testable assumptions, review the state of the art, patents and competing approaches, and quantify the critical parameters with first-principles and order-of-magnitude models. When a project needs deep specialist knowledge outside my core, I bring in a vetted domain expert and keep the scientific synthesis in one place.
How it is delivered
Turnaround and capacity Typical engagement is 2 to 6 weeks at a fixed scope and price, delivered remotely in English or French. I take on a limited number of studies in parallel so each one gets senior attention. Work can be done under NDA.
Recent examples Technical review of a wearable EEG device at TRL 6 before manufacturing; validation of nonlinear dynamical models; architecture of a medical LLM pipeline; a trading system with historical backtesting and forward testing; a manuscript on FPGA acceleration of post-quantum cryptography.
Best fit for Corporate R&D and innovation teams screening a new technology or partner, startups that need an independent view before a funding round or pilot, and investors running technical due diligence.
