Company

Eden 2.0 is a decentralized pilot for polyethylene recovery and wax conversion, focusing on low-energy, small-scale solutions for humanitarian and rural deployment. This initiative integrates real-world testing environments to evaluate PE-to-wax technologies.

Overview

Eden 2.0 is an innovative decentralized pilot project aimed at exploring the feasibility of polyethylene (PE) recovery and wax conversion. This initiative focuses on small-scale, low-energy solutions tailored for humanitarian, rural, or off-grid settings. By integrating low-tech plastic recovery and sustainable construction, Eden 2.0 offers a real-world testing environment for early-stage PE-to-wax conversion technologies, emphasizing circular design, simplicity, and accessibility.

Technical specifications

Eden 2.0 is not developing catalysts or reactors directly but provides a testing ground for evaluating the feasibility of low-energy PE-to-wax conversion systems. The project involves sourcing high-density polyethylene post-consumer resin (HDPE-PCR) from regional waste streams and collaborating with chemical engineers and materials scientists to co-develop conversion systems. It tests small-scale reactor designs, wax handling, and environmental safety under real-world conditions. Additionally, the project investigates non-food wax applications, such as waterproofing and sealing, within sustainable construction efforts.

Technology readiness level

This project is currently at Technology Readiness Level 2, indicating that the basic principles have been observed and reported. Future validation steps include building partnerships to co-develop and evaluate systems, with results documented for replicability and shared with technical partners to optimize and scale the model for rural or climate-impacted communities.

About Animal Guardian Angels Inc.

Animal Guardian Angels Inc. (AGA) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in Wellington, Florida, dedicated to animal rescue, rehabilitation, and sanctuary. The organization protects and transforms the lives of animals through human connection, community partnerships, and relational, natural methods. AGA operates a rescue site where animals are provided with medical care, including spaying/neutering and vaccinations, while awaiting adoption. The organization maintains a structured adoption and foster process that involves multiple meet-and-greet sessions to ensure successful matches between rescues and potential adopters or foster guardians.

This work is critical for animals that have experienced neglect, trauma, or the threat of euthanasia at municipal shelters. By providing a safe environment and focusing on individual rehabilitation, AGA offers animals a path to recovery and a permanent home. The organization relies on community support, including volunteers, foster homes, and financial or in-kind donations, to fund essential services such as veterinary care, food, and supplies. Through its efforts, AGA seeks to create a broader movement of compassion and awareness toward all living beings, fostering deep connections between people and the animals they protect.
