Innovative dual-action toothpaste and bleaching gel using activated carbon and bioactive glass nanoparticles for effective whitening and enamel repair without sensitivity. Validated through in vitro analyses with plans for preclinical trials and pilot-scale production.
This solution involves two nanotechnology-based formulations designed to enhance dental whitening while preserving enamel integrity and reducing sensitivity. The first is a daily-use toothpaste combining activated carbon and bioactive glass nanoparticles (nBG), which work together to remove stains and promote enamel recovery. The second is an in-office bleaching gel incorporating hydrogen peroxide and nBG, ensuring effective bleaching with enamel repair.
The solution is at TRL 4, with validated in vitro results demonstrating whitening efficacy and enamel repair. A 6-month proof-of-concept project is planned to optimize formulations for preclinical validation, with the goal of developing a pilot-ready prototype for clinical testing in collaboration with the University of Chile.
