AnnotateDx is an algorithm-assisted annotation platform designed to eliminate the ground truth bottleneck in Medical AI, Pharmaceutical R&D, and Industrial Metrology. In these high-stakes fields, experts currently spend up to 25% of their time manually quantifying visual data, such as tracing tumors, tracking particles in drug assays, or identifying defects on manufacturing lines. Our solution learns from as few as a single example provided by a human expert to identify similar objects throughout the remaining dataset, effectively automating the redundant data annotation process.
We validated our solution using microscopic particle image datasets for fluid characterization. The dataset consisted of defocused particle motion videos collected at 30 fps, containing 500–1,000 objects per frame. We achieved a 4x reduction in the human time required to annotate objects in the first frame and automatically tracked over 95% of the objects across the video. We are currently seeking R&D partners to pilot the platform on proprietary datasets (such as cell migration assays, histology, and microscopy imaging) to validate domain-specific adapters and accelerate the deployment of automated analysis workflows.
Purdue University is a comprehensive public land‑grant research institution in West Lafayette, Indiana, anchored by a large residential campus. Industry engages through co‑located core facilities, pilot‑scale testbeds, and an adjacent innovation district that brings together labs, corporate R&D space, and maker resources near faculty talent. A statewide Extension network and an established engineering co‑op program connect companies to field sites, workforce pipelines, and pragmatic pathways from concept to deployment across Indiana. Research is supported by competitive federal funding from NSF, DOE, USDA, NIH, and the Department of Defense, and commercialization is managed by a dedicated technology transfer office in partnership with the university’s affiliated research foundation.
