Turbidity measurement is used to evaluate suspended particles and changes in liquid samples across research, product development, process monitoring, and Quality Control. However, different applications may require different wavelengths, sample volumes, measurement ranges, or testing configurations.
A flexible measurement system allows researchers and industry teams to adapt turbidity testing to different samples and applications without being limited to a single optical configuration.
TURBIDI.T™ is a modular turbidimeter designed to measure the turbidity of solutions and suspensions using application-specific optical configurations.
Interchangeable optical cartridges allow users to select different wavelengths according to their testing requirements, while multiple sample holders accommodate different sample formats and volumes. The instrument can therefore evolve as research or testing needs change.
TURBIDI.T™ uses interchangeable emission and reception optical cartridges to measure turbidity at selected wavelengths. Cartridges can be installed, removed, or added as applications evolve.
Different sample holders support 10 mL, 4 mL and 1 mL vials, cuvettes, and PCR tubes. Measurements and experimental data are managed through the Soft Matter Analytics™ software.
TURBIDI.T™ can support applications including microbial and yeast growth monitoring, cell concentration estimation, particle concentration and sedimentation studies, particle size estimation, beverage and beer turbidity testing, bioprocess monitoring, and Quality Control of liquid products.
TURBIDI.T™ is a commercially available modular turbidimeter. Its turbidity measurements have been validated against an established turbidimeter using formazin solutions across different concentrations.
The technology has also been applied to microbial growth and metabolism, suspended particle analysis, sedimentation monitoring, and beverage turbidity measurements.
We are interested in connecting with research and industry partners exploring applications where flexible, application-specific turbidity measurement could support R&D, process monitoring, product development, or Quality Control.
Rheolution designs and manufactures analytical lab instruments and IoT-enabled solutions for soft matter analytics, primarily serving the life sciences and agri-food sectors. Founded in 2009, the company develops smart, non-invasive, and modular testing platforms that utilize patented technologies—such as the CoaguSens series for viscoelasticity testing—to capture the dynamic evolution of live soft materials. By digitalizing the testing process, Rheolution provides high-precision data acquisition tools that integrate hardware with data-centric software, including its collaborative, no-code data analysis platform, nuVerve. These technologies allow researchers and industrial teams to move beyond raw data collection toward actionable insights.
These tools are essential for customers focused on R&D, quality assurance, and process control, as they provide critical information on the viscoelastic properties of biomaterials, medical devices, and food products. By replacing traditional, often limited testing methods, Rheolution helps its users optimize production, improve yield, and fast-track innovation projects. The company, headquartered in Montreal, Canada, supports its global clientele through a combination of hardware innovation, specialized technical support, and customized testing protocols tailored to unique application requirements.
